Eminence senior Emma Preher signed with the Kentucky Christian University volleyball program on Monday, April 15 at the EdHub.
Preher has been part of Eminence volleyball for several years and helped the Warriors to their third straight district title in 2022.
During her junior year in 2022, Preher tallied 28 kills, 88 digs and 33 service aces as Eminence finished with a 26-8 record.
As a senior this fall, Preher played in 91 sets for the Warriors, earning 52 kills, 10 assists, 170 digs and 41 service aces.
In addition to her years with the Eminence volleyball program, Preher also participates in club volleyball with Legacy Volleyball Club in Louisville.
Along with her parents, Preher was joined on stage during her signing ceremony by KCU head coach Russ Cassidy.
“The one thing that I’m most proud of with Emma is the fact that as soon as she walked on our campus, we knew Emma was our people. We knew that she was gonna be a great fit for us,” Cassidy said. “I knew right away, Emma’s heart and her faith is probably more mature than a lot of people, but we’re excited to have Emma join us in the fall.”
Preher leaned on her faith as she gave thanks to God for the opportunity to continue her volleyball career at the collegiate level.
“I am beyond excited to be able to go to KCU and grow not only athletically but academically and spiritually as well, and I know it wouldn’t be possible without my faith and trust in Jesus,” said Preher.
She also thanked her parents for their support over the years and pushing her to initially get into volleyball.
“You guys are my number one supporters,” said Preher.
Lastly, Preher shared her appreciation for all her coaches and teammates during her career thus far.
“I’ve learned so much from every single coach I’ve had and I’m here because of it,” said Preher. “Thank you to each and every one of my teammates. You guys all hold a very special place in my heart and I couldn’t thank you enough for all the memories in the sport you’ve given me throughout these years.”
